Breastfeeding welcome at Nexus

Nexus Primary Health have signed up to the “Breastfeeding Welcome Here” program with the Australian Breastfeeding Association. This program aims to improve community acceptability of breastfeeding in public through the promotion of breastfeeding friendly premises in local areas. These can be anything from a cafe to a hairdresser, community centre, public library or gym.

When you visit the Nexus GP SuperClinic in Wallan see if you can spot the Breastfeeding Welcome Here Sticker that is a visual symbol to promote the program.

Nexus is also working as part of a bigger team including Mitchell Shire Council, Seymour Health, and Lower Hume PCP to assist local business to sign up with the program as part of Communities Latching onto Breastfeeding. More information about this project will be provided soon.

If you would like to find breastfeeding friendly venues in your local area visit https://www.breastfeeding.asn.au/services/welcome/venues

For more information about how to get involved in the Communities Latching onto Breastfeeding Project contact the Nexus Preventive Health and Community Development Team on 1300 77 33 52.
