Financial Counselling

Our Financial Counsellors can support people who are having issues around their finances. Sometimes, people have trouble paying for food, rent, and mortgage or have debts. We can explain what your options are.

We can give you:

• Information
• Support
• Advocacy

You may be worried about:

• Debts that you have to pay
• Threatening letters from debt collects or lawyers
• Sheriff Warrants or Unpaid fines
• House repossession
• Your gas, electricity or phone being disconnected
• Uninsured car accidents
• Tax debt

We can work with you to:

• Understand your options and what it might mean for you.
• Negotiate payments with your creditors
• Understand if you can get government assistance
• Apply for hardship with creditors
• Understand consumer disputes
• Understand complaints processes
• Refer you to other services that may be able to help you.

What to expect

You will need to contact Primary Care Connect. Primary Care Connect are the centralised intake for Financial Counselling at Nexus Primary Health.

Nexus will then call you to make an appointment. You can have an appointment in our offices with one of our Financial Counsellors. We will tell you if you need to bring any documents with you.

All our experienced financial counsellors are:

• Qualified
• Accredited to provide financial counselling by Financial Counselling Victoria.

You will need to ask to use Nexus Primary Health for Financial Counselling.
