Fees, Referred Services and Costs

GP and Specialist fees are set by and are at the discretion of the Medical Practitioner team. Services which attract an on the day fee will be discussed with patients when booking an appointment or prior to a procedure.

Consultations and Medical Assessments

Kinglake Ranges Health Centre & Nexus GP Clinic – Broadford

Patients who have a valid medicare or DVA card attending for an eligible service will be bulk billed.

Those attending for work cover or pre-employment assessment, will be asked to pay for their consultation on the day or provide a valid payment method.  This can include a work cover claim number.

Wallan GP Superclinic

A fee is payable for all consultations and procedures on the day.  Those with a current Medicare Card will receive a rebate from medicare for eligible services.

Those patients with a valid concession will be bulk billed on the day for eligible services.

 
• Pensioner Concession Card
• Health Care Card
• Commonwealth Seniors Health Card
• Patients under 16 years of age
• Patients registered for Closing the Gap
• DVA Card Holders

Those attending for work cover or pre-employment assessment, will be asked to pay for their consultation on the day or provide a valid payment method.

Additional Fees

The treating Medical Practitioner and our staff will advise patients of any additional costs before treatments, investigations or procedures performed at our practice; these may include:

 
• Skin Procedures
• Consumables
• Iron Infusions
• IUD insertion / removals

Fees for these or any other chargeable service, will be discussed with the patient prior to commencement of the procedure.

Non-Medicare Rebatable Services

On occasions services will not attract a Medicare rebate and the patient will be required to pay privately.  This may include:

• Newborn babies who have not yet been registered with Medicare
• Employment medicals other Medical Examinations
• Consultations/treatment in relation to employment that do not have an accepted claim (insurer, claim number must be provided)
• Travel vaccinations/immunisations
• Patients who are self-insured (not registered with Medicare)
• International Students or Visa Holders that are not covered by Medicare

Payment is required at the time of consultation.

Referred Services and Costs

On some occasions, patients will be referred for other services. These services could attract an out-of-pocket cost and may not be covered by Medicare. To find out more about these costs, patients are encouraged to contact the service provider to obtain the information, Nexus staff can assist patients with this.

Accessing & Transferring of Medical Records

Charges apply under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Vic) you will be supplied with an invoice for applicable fees and charges, and those fees and charges are payable prior to accessing the requested information.
