Social Support Groups

Our Social Support activities are a great opportunity for you to visit the community. You can spend time with old friends and make new friends. Spending time with people is important for wellbeing.

Once a week on a Monday. Our activities include:

• Shopping
• Movies
• Lunches
• Morning melodies
• Art galleries
• Nurseries & gardens
• Local sites

Our staff are here to help you. You can bring your carer if you need one to one support, or talk to us and we will see what we can do. We also like to hear about any ideas you have for suitable group activities.

Children under 18 years old cannot come. Young people can only come if they are responsible as your carer.

There is a cost to use the Social Groups. We try to keep the cost as low as possible. You may be:

• Eligible for HACC-PYP (Home and Community Care Program for Younger People) or CHSP (Commonwealth Home Support Programme).
• Self funded.

If you have to cancel your booking you:

• Will receive a credit if you cancel 24 hours before the activity
• Will lose your money if you cancel with less than 24 hours before the activity and we cannot find someone to fill your spot.

What to expect

A fun social day out with old and new friends. There will be a maximum of 18 clients per outing.
We always have 2 staff attend each activity.
All of our activities are within 1.5 hours by road from Broadford.
We use small buses. Our buses are wheelchair accessible.

Our team

We have 2 staff in our team. All team members have several years’ experience working in this program and have come to the team with health-related qualifications.
