Nexus Workplace Gender Equality Report 2022-23

We are proud to announce that we are committed to gender equality in the workplace.

Dear Members and Friends of Nexus,

We are proud to announce that we are committed to gender equality in the workplace. Workplacegender equality is achieved when people are able to access and enjoy the same rewards, resourcesand opportunities regardless of gender. Australia, along with many countries worldwide, has madesignificant progress towards gender equality in recent decades, particularly in education, health andfemale workforce participation.

As an organisation we must act in accordance with the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012, thismeans that we are required to develop a Workplace Gender Equality Report that is submitted to theWorkplace Gender Equality Agency. We are proud to inform you that the Nexus Workplace GenderEquality Report 2022-23 has successfully been lodged.

If you would like a copy of the report please email Nexus People & Cultureat pandc@nexusprimaryhealth.org.au

The aim of gender equality in the workplace is to achieve broadly equal outcomes for women andmen, not necessarily outcomes that are exactly the same for all. To achieve this requires:

  • Workplaces to provide equal pay for work of equal or comparable value
  • Removal of barriers to the full and equal participation of women in the workforce
  • Access to all occupations and industries, including leadership roles, regardless of gender;and
  • Elimination of discrimination on the basis of gender, particularly in relation to family andcaring responsibilities.

Strengthening community health: Nexus Primary Health and Sunbury and Cobaw Community Health to explore a merger

Nexus Primary Health (Nexus) and Sunbury and Cobaw Community Health (SCCH) are excited to share the first step to explore the creation of a stronger, more resilient community health service for people who live in Hume, Macedon Ranges, Mitchell, Murrindindi and Strathbogie local government areas. On Monday 13 January 2025, Nexus transitioned to a governance structure led by SCCH. While both organisations remain separate entities, they will be governed by the same board, and Nexus’ Chief Executive Officer will report to SCCH’s Chief Executive Officer, allowing the organisations to better explore the potential community benefits of a merger.
