Diversity and Inclusion

The Health and Diversity team at Nexus want to create a safe and inclusive community. We work with community members and organisations. We all work together to find ways of including people from  diverse groups at Nexus and in our community. We believe that everyone should be treated fairly.

You can use this service if you live in:

• Murrindindi Shire

We have groups that you might want to join. We have:

• LGBTI+ Social Group (youth and adult groups)
• A Self Advocacy group for people of all abilities.

We can help people from diverse communities and their families to:

• Be a part of their local community
• Access information
• Be involved in the planning of programs and services

We work with other organisations to:

• Understand what help people from diverse communities
• Give people from diverse communities support

Nexus is working towards becoming an inclusive and welcoming organisation for all diverse communities. We are doing this through our Diversity Committee and Rainbow Tick Accreditation process.

The LGBTI+ Social Group meet on the first Monday of the month. We help each other be who we want to be

The Self Advocacy Group helps people of all abilities stand up for their rights.

Teams

Our team has a range of different qualifications and experience. Including:

• Allied Health
• Health promotion
• Experience in the disability sector
• Local community experience

Referral Process

A referral is needed for the LGBTI Social Group. This can be:

• A self referral
• A Second Party Referral

You don't need a referral for our other services.  Call us on 1300 77 33 52 to make an appointment.
