National Meals on Wheels Day

Nexus Primary Health would like to thank all our volunteers on National Meals on Wheels day.

Meals on Wheels is an important service in our community. It helps people aged over 60 years old to live and age well.

Our volunteers deliver Meals on Wheels in Mitchell Shire and Murrindindi Shire.  We have 134 volunteers who deliver over 1500 meals per month to over 120 clients. Receiving healthy and nutritious meals means that people can live in their home independently.

Our volunteers are the centre of this service. Many meals would not be delivered without their commitment.  Volunteering is a great way to give back to your community. We are always looking for more volunteers at Nexus, including in the Meals on Wheels service. Click here to read more about volunteering at Nexus.

Nexus would like to thank each of our Meals on Wheels volunteers. While their time and dedication is appreciated throughout the year, we would like to take this moment to acknowledge their efforts.

Strengthening community health: Nexus Primary Health and Sunbury and Cobaw Community Health to explore a merger

Nexus Primary Health (Nexus) and Sunbury and Cobaw Community Health (SCCH) are excited to share the first step to explore the creation of a stronger, more resilient community health service for people who live in Hume, Macedon Ranges, Mitchell, Murrindindi and Strathbogie local government areas. On Monday 13 January 2025, Nexus transitioned to a governance structure led by SCCH. While both organisations remain separate entities, they will be governed by the same board, and Nexus’ Chief Executive Officer will report to SCCH’s Chief Executive Officer, allowing the organisations to better explore the potential community benefits of a merger.
